All-time leading scorer and single game (50) record holder until 2018. All-WOL for three years. Averaged 32 pts per game and WOL Co-Player of Year 2001-02. All-Area, 1st Team All-SW Ohio, and 2nd Team All-State. All-Conference and Team Captain at University of Charleston as well as a leader in points, assists, and steals.

This scholar-athlete earned 8 varsity letters. XHS football MVP 1988. All-WOL, All-Area, and All-SW Ohio HM. XHS basketball MVP 1988-89, All WOL 1st Team, All-Area 1st Team, District 9 Player of the Year, All-SW Ohio 2nd Team, and All-State HM. Football scholarship to the University of Toledo and OLB on 1990 MAC Co-Champions.

First XHS golfer to receive NCAA Division I golf scholarship. 1st Team All-WOL 1982-83-84. Qualified 4 year in a row for Junior World Championship in San Diego. Medalist and Co-Medalist at sectionals 1982-83-84. A Medalist and a Co-Medalist in qualifying 6 consecutive years for 2nd stage of the U.S. Open. Won the 1985 Ohio Junior Classic. Played collegiate golf for SW Louisiana and two-time Ohio Valley Conference champions Austin Peay.

All-MVL football 1st Team. Three-year starter on three MVL Championship basketball teams, All-District and All-Regional, Captain of 1942 State Champions and 1st Team All-State Tourney. Two-time MVL Discus champions. Offered football scholarship but chose basketball scholarship to Ohio State University. Served with the U.S. Marine Corp in Japan during WW II.

Track
Three-time 100 meter GWOC Champion with 2005 meet record, two-time 4x100 meter and a 200 meter GWOC Champion. All-Conference Outstanding Athlete award 2006. Four-time District Champion. Qualified 3 years years for the Ohio State track meet. All-Conference for University of Dayton at both Indoor and Outdoor A-10 Championships. UD Team Captain 2008-10. Honor Roll student at XHS.

All-MVL football 1953-54-55, All-Ohio HM 1954, All-Ohio 1st Team 1955. Set Xenia Central and MVL discus records. Won 1956 MVL Discus title and finished 3rd in the 220. Unique power and speed. 4th place in discus at the Ohio State track meet. Xenia Student Council President 1955-56. Football scholarship to Bowling Green State University. Served the community for 28 years with the Xenia Police Dept and 3 years with the Central State police

All-WOL, All-Southwest Ohio, All-Ohio 1982. Ohio North-South All-Star football game 1983. Four-year letterman at the University of Michigan and starting middle guard on 1986 Big Ten Champions. Played in four Bowl games including the 1986 Rose Bowl. 2nd Team All-Big Ten in 1985. Assistant Athletic Director at Texas Southern University and Drexel University. Played 5 years in Arena football and won two championships with the Detroit Drive.

Athlete and Volunteer Coach
Earned seven Varsity letters. Selected as a 1949 MVL football All-Star and as a 1st Team All-MVL basketball player in 1948-49 while winning two MVL team championships. Volunteered as a youth football and girls basketball coach for 25 years and helped start girls basketball along with his wife at Spring Hill Elementary. Received 2 Purple Hearts serving with U.S. Marines in Korea. Worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years.

Football Coach
An All-League four-sport athlete, member of the 1949 State Championship baseball team, and Hall of Fame inductee at Taylor H.S. in Cincinnati. Played football for the 1952 University of Cincinnati MAC Champions. Football coach for 14 years and Head Coach of the 1969 WOL Champions. Earl is best remembered as a selfless person volunteering countless hours and working endlessly behind the scenes to help others attain success.

Cheerleading and Girls Track Coach
Taught PE for 32 years. Started the girls track program in 1969 and coached for 17 years. Head of the GAA (Girls Athletic Association) from 1954 until the girls interscholastic programs began in 1970. Coached the cheerleaders for 28 years. Certified track official for 25 years. Coached first girl track athletes among others to qualify for the State meet. Coached three current Xenia Athletic Hall of Fame inductees

This outstanding District finalist team was repeat WOL Champions after winning the title also in 1967-68. All-WOL 1st Team selections were Michael Byrd and Mark Muterspaw, 3rd Team selection was Tyrone Lane, and Sullivan "Buddy" Kelley and Ray Byrd were chosen as Honorable Mentions. Michael Byrd was chosen as the Miami Valley Player of the Year s well as 1st Team All-SW District. Muterspaw was selected to the 3rd Team All-Miami Valley. Five players went on to play college basketball. Head Coach was Rollie Barton and his Reserve coach was Jim Fleisher.

One of only a couple undefeated Varsity football teams in the history of Xenia Central and Xenia High School. Arguably the greatest defense in the history of Xenia football, only one team scored on this vaunted defense. The 1921 team outscored their opponents 222-7. Team Captain was Marcus McCallister and the Head Coach was Jerry L. Katherman. Many of these men became outstanding community leaders in their post-football careers.
