Football, Track

Held XHS single season receiving record and led the WOL in receiving in 1969 on 9-1 WOL championship team.  First Team All-WOL, All-Dayton Area, All-Southwest Ohio, and 2nd Team All-State.  Received scholarship to Ohio State and played in three consecutive Rose Bowls for Woody Hayes. 1985 Wright State medical school graduate.

Head Track and Cross Country Coach

Coached 30 years and as a head coach for 25 years. Won 5 MVL and WOL chamionships and two District Cross Country championships.  Coached numerous athletes to State track meet.  Inducted in 1982 into Ohio Track and Field Coaches Hall of Fame.  Served on Xenia City Council and as Mayor.  Inducted into Xenia Educational Hall of Honor in 2010.

Swimming

GWOC Swimmer of the Year for 2006-07-08.  Held 11 XHS team records.  OHSAA State qualifier and finalist 2005 through 2008.  Two time sectional champ and 4th and 2nd in State in 200 and 500 freestyle.  NISCA High School All-American 2005-06.  Three-time scholastic All-American.  Ohio State University varsity letter winner.  Academic All-Big Ten.

Soccer, Basketball

1st Team Soccer All-WOL, All-Area, WOL Player of the Year, and All-State.  Numerous school records for season and career goals and assists.  3 XHS soccer team MVP awards.  Basketball MVP 1992-93 and All-County and 3rd Team All-WOL.  Collegiate soccer at Tiffin University and ranks in top 5 for seasonal goals, assists, and points.

Golf, Basketball

All-MVL Basketball Team, MVL scoring leader, Honorable Mention All-Ohio 1952.  Held XC record per game scoring average.  Standout on golf team finishing 6th and 8th in State in 1951 and 1952.  Won numerous Dayton area tournaments and was 1962 Dayton City Amateur Match Play champion.  Dayton Amateur Golf Hall of Fame inductee in 1986.

Educator, Coach, and Civic Leader

Teacher, principal and coach at Xenia East and Lincoln Elementary, coach at Central Junior High and principal at McKinley Elementary.  Served on boards for Xenia Civil Service, YMCA, Boy Scouts, United Way, Xenia City Recreation, and the Red Cross.  Founder of county Head Start program.  Recipient of prestigious 1986 F.M. Torrence Award which is awarded to an individual who unselfishly promotes the business, cultural, educational, religious and civic life in the Xenia community.

Basketball, Track

1st Team basketball All-WOL, 2nd Team All-Southwest Ohio, Honorable Mention All-State, MVP in WOL on 92-93 District Champs.  Greene County Player of the Year.  WOL Champion in long jump and 200 meter as well as Regional champion.  Held WOL long jump and 200 meter records.  1st team for two years as an All-WVIAC performer at the University of Charleston.

Wrestling

Overall individual record 101-8, Team MVP 1987 and 1988, three-time WOL and District Champion, and State qualifier.  Individually 5th in State in 1987 and State runner up in 1988.  3 WOL and District team championships and 1986 team State runner up.  Won numerous titles at the Xenia, St. Xavier, and Greater Miami Valley Holiday tournaments.

WOL Champions, District Champions, and undefeated in dual meets.  Winner of the 53 team Miami Valley Holiday Tournaments and the nationally reognized St. Xavier Tournament.  2nd place at OHSAA State Tournament.  Qualified 6 wrestlers to the State tournament with Lawrance Dudgeon and Monty Dagley winning state titles and Tommy Hoskins 4th.  Coached by Steve Harris.
