State Champion wrestling 167 lbs in 1986.  WOL Champion 1986, District Champion 1985, 1986, and 1987, Regional Champion 1986, Three-time State qualifier 1985, 1986, and 1987.  Todd Handy Award recipient.  1st Team All-WOL football.  2nd Team All-Southwest District football.  Football MVP and 110% Award recipient 1986.

All-WOL and All-Area 1996-97-98, All-State 1998, All-American Mideast Region 1998.  4th leading scorer and 1st in assists in XHS history.  At Wright State, chosen as 1999 Horizon League Newcomer of the Year.  1st Team All-Horizon League 2001-02.  Played professionally with Columbus Crew, Cincinnati Kings and Silverbacks, Dayton Dutch Lions

In 1983-84 season, 1st Team All-WOL, All-Dayton Area, District 9, and All-Southwest Ohio.  2nd Team All-Ohio.  District 9 and WOL Player of the Year.  WOL rebounding record.  Ohio North-South All-Star.  Played at Vincennes J.C. and was 2nd Team JUCO All-American.  Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year at NAIA D-I Georgetown College in Kentucky.

XHS records for shot put and discus.  District discus record and is in Ohio high school top 10 discus throws ever.  Two-time champion in WOL, District, and Sectional in both shot and discus 1980 and 1981.  MAC shot put Champion at Miami U. 1985.  All-MAC shot put and discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985.  All-WOL, MVP in XHS football.  Captain at XHS and Miami.

1st Team basketball All-WOL 1983, 2nd Team All-WOL 1982, Honorable Mention 1981.  1st Team basketball All-Dayton Area 1983, HM All-Dayton Area 1981-82.  Co-Captain of State semifinalist 82-83 team.  1st Team AAA All-State Tournament.  As a 3-year starter, her XHS teams were 64-9. Softball HM 1982.  Earned 9 varsity letters.  Played basketball at the University of Dayton.

Basketball

Excelled academically and in basketball at Xenia East.  At Central State, Billy won 12 varsity letters in football, basketball, and baseball.  He was chosen as a Midwest Athletic Association All-Star in all three sports.  Professional baseball in AAA Pacific Coast League.  Inducted into Central State Athletic Hall of Fame 1992.  Well-respected HS and college official.  Los Angeles Recreation Director

Head Wrestling Coach

Coached 25 years at Xenia and 38 overall.  Won 8 WOL, 10 Sectional, and 6 District championships.  State team runner-ups in 1986.  Coached 3 individual State Champions, 16 State placeers and 43 State qualifiers.  Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Coaches Association "Coach of the Year."  Inducted into Ohio Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame 2011 and GMVWCA Hall of Fame.  Served as GMVWCA President.

Athletic, School, and Community Volunteer 

Coach, mentor, and leader for numerous athletes and troubled youth.  Volunteered as chaplain and conducted leadership and mentoring programs for XHS athletic teams.  Minister at Xenia Nazarene Church.  Xenia Community Schools Hall of Honor inductee in 2014.  U.S. Marines 1961-65.  Coached and volunteered for 45 years at XHS.

Back Row:  Damon Smith, Nemo Taylor, Jason Fields, Scott Duncan, Sam Omolewu, Nate Wiselogel, Ben Jones, John Labig, Jason Thompson, Coach Pat Marrinan.

Holds XHS record for most wins (16) and fewest losses and most shutouts (11).  Ranked #1 in the Dayton area and #3 in the State for most of the year.  Ben Jones was All-WOL, All-Area and All-State.  Defeated nationally ranked Cincinnati Anderson in the quarterfinal.  Lost to Westerville South 1-0 in semifinals.  Five team members went on to play collegiate soccer.
